CES 2013 has more in store for us than just new device announcements, Samsung went on to unveil a brand new chipset besides a handful of new smartphones. The Exynos 5 Octa is said to feature twice as much 3D rendering power than the Exynos 4 Quad, found inside the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II. Say “hello” to mobile casino games revolution. 364k

The Exynos 5 Octa is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE technology, which makes it possible to increase performance of apps including mobile casino gambling without power losses. The new chipset has eight processor cores, which share the workload between themselves. Four Cortex-A15 cores are responsible for never-before-seen performance, while the other four Cortex-A7 cores start to operate if less demanding tasks need to be performed, thus dramatically decreasing the consumed power.

According to Samsung, the new chipset will consume up to 70% less power than the Exynos 5 Dual, currently powering the Google Nexus 10 tablet and the yet to be released Samsung’s Chromebook. This reduction will especially please gamers, allowing them to enjoy Android blackjack for far longer periods of time.

So far, there’s no word on which devices will receive the new chipset first, however, it’s safe to suggest that the new generations of Galaxy S and Note will already be running on the Exynos 5 Octa.
